Geocaching in the Groves (And Scouts Canada)
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their
experiences online.
In its simplest form, a geocache contains a logbook or logsheet for you to sign. Caches may also contain items for trade, but the journey in discovering the geocache is often
the greatest reward.

There are about 200 geocaches on the Sunshine Coast, over 1.6 million on the planet, and one in space. There are 2 million registered users on www.geocaching.com alone, and an estimated 5 million people enjoying the sport.
Presently there are 4 geocaches in the Grove, one is specifically wheelchair accessible. The oldest was placed in 2010 and has logged 26 visits.
If you weren't looking for one, you'd never notice them!
THE NEW KIOSK - May 7/12
Missed getting pictures of the digging of the holes for the footings and the pouring of the concrete (all by volunteers of course) but here at least is the site ready for the structure to come from our kind donor, West Coast Log Homes. Then the volunteers working at the assembly - Michael Davidson, Rupert Clark and Ken Hall plus Amos from West Coast Log Homes.
